What people say about UW-Green Bay...

Michelle McQuade Dewhirst

Associate Professor of Music

The thing that really drives me about UW-Green Bay is the way that we ask our students to make connections between fields and sometimes between disparate ideas. That is something that also carries over into the faculty. I'm constantly enriched by the connections I'm making with people both in my field and outside of it.

Anne Barlas

Junior, Mathematics Major

I like that the professors personally care about my success as a student.

Craig Dickman ’82

CEO, Breakthrough Fuel

The great thing about UW-Green Bay is when they talk about 360° of Learning, it's not a slogan. It's something that the University has lived throughout its life. As an old alum, I got a chance to see that when I attended school there and I've seen that continue to grow and nurture as it's become a more engaged part of the community. As we've seen real collaboration start to take place between the University and the community, and so they bring to life 360° of Learning. As an alum, I'm proud to be a part of its heritage.

Sam Owens

Senior, Communications Major

What I like about UWGB are some of the opportunities that have been provided. Things like internships and employment with companies like ESPN and WIXX are really valuable experiences that I can only get at UWGB.

Mike Kline ’88

Athletics Academic Coordinator

What I like about UW-Green Bay is we have a campus where our people — our faculty, our staff — are committed. They're passionate about what they do. They love what they do here. Yes, it's a job and it's work, but when we get up in the morning, we look forward to coming to work here and we take pride in what we do.

Howard Scott

Sophomore, Business Administration Student

My favorite thing about the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is that — well, the campus, to start, is great. I think there is a lot of natural beauty around here. There are a lot of different things to do. The Kress Center is one of the biggest draws for me.

Mark Murphy

President of the Green Bay Packers

The thing that's great about [UW-Green Bay] is that so many of the students there are the first in their family to go to college. And just talking to the students there, you can see the excitement and the pride they have.

Sue Mattison

Dean of the College of Professional Studies

The faculty don't even know how awesome they are. It's really a group of people that work hard to transform students' lives.

Kari Moody ’00

Director of Alumni Relations

What I like best about UW-Green Bay is the fact that I had an opportunity to work side-by-side with the faculty here. I was respected as a student and that gave me a confidence when I went out into the job market that I don't think you'd find elsewhere.

Regan Gurung

Professor of Human Development

I have colleagues who are always excited about teaching. And it's a place where you can actually come in and talk about teaching and that's what we do here and that's what we're proud about.

What people say about our city...

Paula Ganyard

Cofrin Library Director

The city of Green Bay, for me, is a very comfortable city. It's a city that you can become a part of very quickly. Lots of volunteer opportunities. Lots of ways to get involved in creative environments, sports; whatever is your interest, there's something in Green Bay for it.

Anne Barlas

Junior, Mathematics Major

I like best that the city is new and emerging. I feel like I have a chance to put my say into what the future of the city looks like.

Mark Murphy

President of the Green Bay Packers

I have been in Green Bay almost seven years now, and I'm proud to call it home. It's a great community. Really, for me, it's a great size. It's big enough that there's a lot to do, in terms of entertainment and sports and restaurants. But it's not too big where you feel like you're overwhelmed. And, to me, probably the best thing about Green Bay is the people.

Craig Dickman ’82

CEO, Breakthrough Fuel

The great thing about Green Bay is it's an engaged community. It's a community that has got a great standard of living. You see people involved in all aspects of life here — from winter sports to summer activities to real engagement with the University — being part of a community that's really special and a great place to live.

Ginny Riopelle ‘70

Vice Chair, Council of Trustees, Civic Leader

I think the best thing about the city of Green Bay is that we feel we that we owe it to give back to others. That those of us who have been blessed owe it to give back to others.

Michelle McQuade Dewhirst

Associate Professor of Music

There are pockets of creativity all over the place. There are wonderful artists. There are wonderful musicians. There are great little funky out-of-the-way places to explore. There's craft brewing galore. It's a beer town, that goes with the Packers, I suppose.

Sue Mattison

Dean of the College of Professional Studies

Green Bay is a very friendly place. The people who live here are extremely generous and have given to scholarships and have been just really helpful with anything we need.
