The Channel 20 infrastructure (originally Channel 21 equipment) failed mid-semester and Channel 20 went offline for the rest of the semester.
Summer 2004
Residence Life purchases all new equipment/infrastructure to begin experimenting with modern technology.
Fall 2004
- A new chapter for Channel 20 begins with all brand new equipment and drastically improved capabilities.
- Newly enhanced content
- Slide-based advertising with custom graphics and images
- Full motion video commercials running in MPEG2 and VHS format.
- Select Men’s and Women’s basketball games (tape delayed)
- Fire Safety video
- WFPR returns after ceasing briefly in spring 2004 (due to the equipment failure).
- Collaborative relationships created/renewed with several groups/organizations
- Communication Processes department, Student Life, Athletics, Weidner Center, Fourth Estate, WFPR, various other student organizations and more.
- Staff of two students and one Residence Life professional staff member.
- Residence Life begins laying the groundwork for an internship program that would give students out of the classroom experience in video production.
- Communication Processes faculty agrees to support and assist with recruitment and establishment of the internship program.
- Two students recruited to begin starting in spring 2005.
