The station was created some time between 1988 – 1992 (exact dates are currently being investigated) and it was originally 3 channels:

• Channel 19 and Channel 20 - Both movie channels
• Channel 21 - Information Channel and the home of WFPR student radio.

Summer 2003

• Channel 20 is selected to remain as Residence Life’s only closed circuit channel and is initially utilized as an information channel true to channel 21’s roots.

• Other two channels were eliminated to make more room for Time Warner Cable programming.
