Commencement
Fall/Winter Ceremony Details for Faculty/Staff
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's Fall/Winter Commencement ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, in the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
The commencement ceremony is approximately 1-1/2 hours in length. The front doors of the Weidner Center will open at 10:00 a.m.
Robing and Processional
The platform party and other participating faculty and staff will robe in Studio One and the Jean Weidner Theater of the Weidner Center. Refreshments will be available for all participating faculty and staff.
Plan to arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. to allow adequate time to robe and be given seating instructions. The processional line will form at precisely 11:15 a.m. Unfortunately, we won't be able to fit late arrivals into the lineup.
Portable coat racks will be available in both robing rooms and will be secured during the ceremony, so you may leave any necessary personal belongings behind.

Conferring of Degrees
Major Professors - Master's Degree Presentation
When called forward, major professors will meet the master’s degree candidates at the top of the ramp, stage left. At the appropriate time, they will assist the Director of Graduate Studies with the hooding of the graduate.
Program Chairs - Associate's and Bachelor's Degree Presentation
When called forward, program chairs will congratulate each graduate as he/she receives his/her diploma and crosses the stage. Program chairs should position themselves behind the Chancellor, who will be the first to shake the graduate’s hand. There will be X’s placed on the stage, so you will know where to stand.
Recessional
The order of the recessional will be as follows:
- Mace Bearer
- Chancellor
- Provost
- University Marshal
- Platform Party
- Faculty/Staff
- Graduates
The student marshals will lead graduates to alternate exits, where they will recess to the main lobby.
Parking
Follow Nicolet Dr. to the Main Entrance of campus and staff will direct you to park in the closest available area to the Weidner Center. If you are transporting elderly or handicapped guests, please let the security personnel know upon arrival. You will be directed to a drop off point at the entrance of the Weidner Center. There are also handicapped parking spots available in all surrounding lots.
