Special Needs Seating & Other Arrangements

If you have a disability and are in need of assistance, such as accessible seating, a sign language interpreter and/or large print materials, please contact Jan Snyder at (920) 465-2082 or commencement@uwgb.edu no later than the ceremony signup deadline. (This is midnight on the Thursday nine days prior to the ceremony. Exact date is listed on the ceremony details page for each semester in the Graduates section of this web page).

Except in very special circumstances, disability seating is offered on a first-come-first-served basis and is not reserved.  Both the fall and spring ceremony venues have wheelchair and scooter accessible areas, and end seats may be available for those with mobility issues. An usher will seat guests in the designated area upon arrival, and one companion is allowed to sit next to the special needs guest.  Others in the party will be seated as nearby as possible in regular seating. The Weidner Center has accessible seating on all three levels and there is an elevator. The Kress Events Center accessible seating is on the entry level of the building, and several additional designated seats are made available for special needs commencement guests plus one companion.

If you are transporting elderly or handicapped guests, please let the security personnel know upon arrival. You will be directed to a drop off point nearest the ceremony location. There are handicapped parking spots available in all campus lots.
