To access your UW-Green Bay personal network drive from home, you need to have a FTP program installed on your Macintosh. On campus we use a program called Fetch, which can be downloaded from the UW - Green Bay downloads page. *This software is free for all students, faculty, and staff associated with UW - Green Bay.
When you open Fetch, you will see the following window:

The Host: field tells Fetch where you want to navigate to.
Faculty\Staff Shares: FPSA.uwgb.edu
Student Shares: FPSB.uwgb.edu
In the User ID: field, you need to type UWGREENBAY/username.
Faculty\Staff accounts: uwgreenbay/theyerlp
Student accounts: uwgreenbay/theypa31
The password field is where you will type in your account password. This will be the same as when you log onto computers on campus.
After completing the necessary fields, click the OK button and you are ready to access your files. The following screen shows a typical FTP session in Fetch.

Finding your way with Fetch : When you first log into a site using Fetch, a window appears that lists all the files and folders in your M:\ drive on the FTP server. This is an important point. Fetch shows the files on the FTP server, not the files on your own computer.
To open a folder, simply double-click on it, as you would in the Finder.
UPLOADING :Uploading, or rather, loading pages up to your M:\ drive on the UW - Green Bay Server, is very simple in Fetch. You must first navigate in Fetch to the folder where you'd like to upload your files. If you want to put images in your "images" folder, for example, you should first navigate to that images folder, using Fetch. In the example below, I am planning to upload files to the Images folder.

NOTE: Before uploading, please note this VERY IMPORTANT WARNING about FTP. Files will automatically write over any file with the same name on the FTP server. For example: if you have a file named expense.xls on the server, and you upload a file named expense.xls into the same directory, the second file will overwrite the first. The first file will be lost. There will be no warning about this. You may be used to your computer asking you if you are sure you want to replace the existing file. There are no such niceties in FTP. It will just do it. This is often handy, as you may have just made a small change to expense.xls, and are in fact replacing the old copy of the file. In this case you want to overwrite the old file. But beware if you have a tendency to name your files similar things (i.e. expense1.xls and expense2.xls and expense.xls).
Select Put Files... then, find the files you wish to upload in the Finder. For example, in the image below, we have several image files we want to upload to the FTP server:

Finally, click on Choose. Fetch will begin the upload process. The process is completed when you view the uploaded files in the appropriate folder on your M:\ drive. Below you can see the 3 files that were uploaded. Keep an eye on your transfers with Fetch's unique donut-shaped progress indicator and running dog cursor.
DOWNLOADING : Downloading is the process of copying files from your FTP server down to your local computer. Navigate in Fetch to find the file(s) you want to download, then simply drag them from the Fetch window to your desktop. You can also select the files you want in Fetch and press the "Get..." button which will download them to the Desktop.
