Internet Explorer 7’s search tool is no longer limited to Microsoft’s search engine. Now you can use it with Google, Yahoo, eBay, Wikipedia, and many others. Additionally, the Search feature lets you search the Web directly from the Internet Explorer 7 frame, rather than forcing you to open a separate page or tab for a search engine. You can add multiple search providers and change your default provider.
Microsoft's Live Search is the default Search provider. However, you have the option of adding different providers and changing the default provider.
In the Search text box, type your search criteria

A useful feature of Search is the ability to add multiple search providers. With multiple providers, you can easily search the Web from the Search text box using either your default provider or any of your other providers.
Search provider options include traditional search engines (e.g., Google, Yahoo!), shopping sites (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Best Buy), reference sites (e.g., Wikipedia, About.com), and news and sports sites (e.g., USA Today, ESPN), among others.
