Using Windows to Mount or Dismount a Network Share on a Campus Owned Machine

Follow these Steps to Mount a Network Share:
- Select My Computer from the Windows desktop.
- Then inside My Computer select Tools from the menu bar, and click on Map Network Drive.

- In the Map Network Drive Window, select the Drive pull down menu and select an open drive such as M,Nor O.

- In the Folder pull down menu type \\fpsa\,and then the name of the share. See the example below of a class share.
- This is an example of a department share.

- If you you choose the Reconnect at logon option, this drive with be mounted each time you log in on campus.
- Click Finish.
- Your newly mounted share will be listed in My Computer with the other network drives, and will be open on your screen.
- You may now close the My Computer window if you do not need it.
How to Dismount a Network Share.
Select My Computer from the Windows desktop.
In the Network Drives section, right click on the share that you want to dismount. Select Disconnect from this pull down menu.

This share is now removed from the list, and disconnected from you computer.
You may now close the My Computer window if you do not need it.
