Configuring Outlook Express for Off Campus Use


To configure Outlook Express for off campus use follow these steps:

  1. Open Outlook Express and select Tools, Accounts from the Main Menu.

  2. From the "Internet Accounts" window, select the Mail tab. Select Add and Mail...



  3. The Internet Connection Wizard will step you through the configuration process. Enter an account name.

  4. Enter your email Address:



  5. Select IMAP as the incoming mail server. Enter the Incoming & the Outgoing Mail server names as: webmail.uwgb.edu. Select Next.




  6. Enter Account name: (your email address). Enter your password and check the "remember password" checkbox. Do NOT check the "Lon on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox. Select Finish.



  7. You should now see your Account. Select the account and then choose Properties.



  8. Within the Properites dialog box, select the Advanced tab, and check the box shown below. (you will notice the Incoming mail (IMAP) port will change to 993.) Click OK.



  9. Finally, click CLOSE on the Internet Accounts Dialog box.
