Configuring Moto Q, Smart Phones, and other devices that support ActiveSync

Microsoft ActiveSync is a technology that allows your mobile device to connect directly to our Exchange Email servers to retrieve your email, calendar appointments, and contacts. This technology eliminates the need to connect your device to a computer to retrieve your information, which allows you to access your information wherever you are (depending on your data plan). ActiveSync has been licensed to most major mobile device producers including Apple, Palm, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Symbian, and many others. When shopping for a new device, be sure it supports Microsoft ActiveSync.

Smart Phones running Windows Mobile 6.1 or higher should be able to auto discover your email settings simply by entering your full email address (username@uwgb.edu) after launching ActiveSync. If you have a different device, or for some reason auto-discovery fails, you can manually configure your device using the steps below:

motoq
1.       Open ActiveSync on your device.
2.       Choose Set up your device to sync with it.
3.       For the server type enter webmail.uwgb.edu.
