Apple iPad tablets – Call for specs

Note: The University does not purchase iPads with central funds but iPads are ordered through CIT.  iPads may be ordered with additional department or grant funding, however they are not a replacement for your office workstation.  In order to install software on an iPad you will need to set up an Apple iTunes account and pay for purchases via P-Card or personal credit card and file for reimbursement at your department's discretion.

To see what models and accessories are available please go to the Apple Store. Select a model and it will prompt you for additional options. Note: IPad 2's are still available at a reduced price. Accidental damage protection is available for an additional $99 at time of purchase.

Covers - automatically sleeps and wakes iPad depending on cover position. Apple Smart covers are not being recommended by CIT as they offer little protection in case of a fall.

  • Yoobao Leather Book Style Case with magnetic closure and 3 in 1 built in stand. Props-up horizontally and vertically to act as a digital photo album, view movies, or for typing. Available in red, black and brown from Amazon for around $40.00 See pictures here.

  • Griffin Survivor cases offer great protection for heavily utilized IPads for around $50.00 See picture here.

  • Amazon offers a full line of iPad cases, just type in "iPad 2 case" in the Amazon search field to display other cases. Both the iPad 2 and iPad 3 can us e the same case as long as it is not a molded fit.

    Cables and Adapters

  • VGA Adapter - Requred for use in High Tech Classrooms - Share your iPad screen with a monitor/projector using VGA - $29

  • Digital AV Adapter - Share your iPad screen with an HDTV/HDMI device - $39

  • Camera Connection Kit - import pictures using either the camera's USB cable or from a SD card - $29

    Ordering

    Please send an email to gbworkstations@uwgb.edu including the following information:

    • Department
    • End User Name
    • Department funding codes to be charged for the cost of the iPad
    • What model you would like including color, size, and Wifi only or ATT or Verizon capability
    • If you would like a cover (what manufacture, material and color)
    • Any other accessories listed on Apple's site that you would like (AV adapters, spare charger, etc)

    Apps

    We are now using the AppStore Volume Purchase Program for Pages, Numbers, and Keynote at a discounted rate of $5 per app for anyone with a campus owned iPad. Send an email to appstorevpp@uwgb.edu including;
