Who can see my records at the Counseling and Health Center?
Maintaining confidentiality of service is an office priority. All counseling and medical records are confidential and are NOT part of your academic records. Records are not available to anyone except Counseling and Health Services staff without your written consent.
There are rare exceptions to confidentiality. Exceptions include possible suicide, homicide or recent/intended serious violation of the law. Illegal possession of drugs for personal use disclosed during an appointment will be kept confidential in accordance with federal law.
Do I need an appointment to see the RN, Physician or Counselor?
It is recommended that you call the Counseling and Health Center (465-2380) or come to our office (SS-1400) to make an appointment. You may also "drop in" to see a nurse or a counselor but there may not be one available at the time you stop by. Our physician only see students by appointment. (See question #10)
If I want to see the physician what do I do?
If you want to see the campus physician you need to call the Counseling and Health Center at 465-2380 to make an appointment with a nurse. The nurse will do a health assessment of your symptoms and concerns and schedule you to see the campus Physician. (There is no charge for the appointment with the nurse.)
What kind of Counseling is done at the Counseling and Health Center?
Counseling Services is staffed by licensed mental health professional who can work with students on a wide variety of issues. The issues that students often seek assistance with include but are not limited to concerns such as:
- Study habits
- Relationship issues
- Adjustment to school
- Eating disorders
- Alcohol and drug concerns
- Test anxiety
- Self exploration
- Family issues
- Coping with diagnosed mental health concerns

What does it cost if I need to come to the Counseling and Health Center for medical care or counseling?
There is no charge to talk with a counselor or a nurse or for over the counter medications. There are charges to see a physician and also costs for some of the medical procedures, immunizations, lab tests and prescription medications available through Health Services. How do I pay for the services I receive at the Counseling and Health Center?
You can use cash, check or pass-points to pay for services that you receive at the Counseling and Health Center. Services are never denied based on your ability to pay.
Can I use my insurance to pay for services at the Counseling and Health Center?
The Counseling and Health Center does not bill heath insurance. However, if you are provided chargeable services from the Counseling and Health Center you will be given an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Who do I contact if I need Health Insurance?

Can I get birth control at the Counseling and Health Center?
Yes, birth control is available through the Counseling and Health Center. Visit our Birth Control Page for more information.
Are prescription medications available at the Counseling and Health Center?
Yes, the Counseling and Health Center has a limited supply of commonly prescribed medications (antibiotics, birth control, antifungal). These medications can be prescribed for students by the campus physicians. For information about Counseling and Health Center charges visit our Fees Page.
Can I get my prescriptions filled at the Counseling and Health Center?
The Counseling and Health Center does not have a licensed pharmacy. Therefore, prescriptions from your family physician cannot be filled at the Counseling and Health Center. The RN staff can however, help you find a place in Green Bay to have your prescriptions filled.
Do you have crutches or wheel chairs for students to use?
The Counseling and Health Center has crutches available for short-term use. If you are in need of these or other medical supplies call 465-2380 and make an appointment to see a nurse. We do not supply wheel chairs.
