  Crisis Intervention

Personal Crisis can challenge the individual's ability to cope, not only with the crisis itself but also with other aspects of the student's life. Counselors are trained to help people meet the challenges of this kind of crisis. We invite students who are dealing with personal crisis to come in and talk with a counselor.

The counselors at the Counseling and Health Center are also trained to help with specific kinds of crisis. If you believe that anyone in the campus community might be considering suicide you should contact a counselor at the Counseling and Health Center as soon as possible. The Counselor will then investigate and work to Keep the person safe. Anyone becoming aware of an imminent threat of suicide should call 911 immediately.

The counselors and the nurses at the Counseling and Health Center are also trained to respond to the victims of sexual assault.

Visit our Sexual Assault section for more information.
