Annual pelvic exams are an important part of a woman's
health. The pelvic exam includes a Pap Smear,
which is a screening for cervical cancer. A woman should have her first pelvic exam at age 18 or earlier
if she is sexually active, has menstrual problems, has vaginal discharge or irritation.
To schedule a pelvic exam:
- Make an appointment to see a nurse. Call (920) 465-2380.
- The nurse will explain the exam, pap smear and other testing.
- If you are or are planning to be sexually active, the nurse will discuss birth control and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
- An appointment with a physician will be made.
- Costs (as of 7/01/10):
- Exam $37.00
- Pap $36.00
- Chlamydia $22.00
