More about Massage
The benefits of massage go beyond relaxation. Massage is actually one of oldest, simplest forms of
therapy used to relieve pain, relax, stimulate and tone the body. Massage involves a system of
stroking, pressing and kneading of the body which affects the skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments.
It can be used to either stimulate or calm the nervous system-depending on what the individual needs.
Thus, helping to reduce fatigue and replenishing energy.
Although a single massage is enjoyable, the effects of massage are cumulative. Regular massage can
have the effect of strengthening and toning the entire body thus helping to prevent unnecessary
strains and injuries that might otherwise occur due to excess tension. Some benefits of massage
include:
- Relaxing
- Soothing
- Healing
- Reassuring
- Eases tension, stiffness, and pain
- Improves breathing
- Improves circulation
- Enhances well-being
