9th Annual
Cofrin Arboretum Student Research Symposium
The 9th Annual Cofrin Arboretum Student Research Symposium will be held on Friday, March 31st, 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. in the 1965 Room of the UW-Green Bay Student Union. This symposium features presentations by recipients of the 1999 Cofrin Arboretum Student Research Awards. The Cofrin Arboretum Student Research Program offers opportunities for students to conduct studies on natural areas managed by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Five awardees will be presenting results from their research on exotic plants, snails, mammals, soils, and pond water quality. A Schedule of Presentations includes five recipients plus two others who cannot attend but who have made their results available for the audience.
Everyone is invited to this symposium. The program will be an opportunity to learn more about the natural history of northeastern Wisconsin and a chance to see the results of hands-on student learning experiences.
Proposals for this year's awards will be due April 15, 2000. Any UW-Green Bay student with a project sponsored by a faculty or staff member is eligible to apply. Thanks to an endowment established by the Cofrin family, we anticipate awarding 5 research grants of approximately $1000 each during 2000. See Application Details or contact Kim McKeefrey (920-465-2371 or mckeefrk@uwgb.edu).
