Accessible Computer Stations & Equipment on Campus

There are accessible computer stations and adaptive technology on campus. The following are the places were the equipment is located and what equipment is available. If there is a need for additional equipment and/or stations please contact Lynn Niemi (niemil@uwgb.edu), Coordinator of Disability Services Office at 920-465-2849.


Cofrin Library

One fully accessible computer station in 306B (3rd Floor)
  • Adjustable Table and Chair
  • Jaws for Windows - Screen reader program with voice synthesis
  • Kurzweil 3000 - Scans in print materials and reads the materials back
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking - Voice recognition software that trains to your voice to transcribe on your screen and in your document. It also allows for you to navigate through Windows using your voice.
  • ZoomText Level 2 ­ Magnifies the screen (from 2x to 16x)
  • Headset with microphone
  • Color scanner for Kurzweil program
  • ECLIPSE read station
CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) ­ that enlarges books and other materials (located on the 3rd Floor).

Adjustable tables are located in the General Access Lab (CL 304)

Eclipse read station in the General Access Lab are located on the following computers: GB6135 GB6136 GB6141 GB6000

Disability Services Office

There are two computers with the following adaptive software. Both computers are on adjustable tables.
  • Kurzweil 3000 - Scans in print materials and reads the materials back
  • ZoomText Level 2 - Magnifies the screen (from 2x to 16x) and screen reads.
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking - Voice recognition software that trains to your voice to transcribe on your screen and in your document.


ALL COMPUTERS ON CAMPUS HAVE WINDOWS XP, WHICH HAVE SOME BUILT IN SCREEN MAGNIFICATION AND TEXT TO SPEECH ABILITY.
