Ducks Unlimited

Heroes Of Conservation Award

In 1937, Ducks Unlimited was founded with the mission of conserving, restoring, and managing wetlands in North America. Today, Ducks Unlimited has 592,388 adult members and 48,900 youth members in the United States, 139,313 members in Canada, and 4,546 members in Mexico. Each and every member of Ducks Unlimited over the past 77 years has played an instrumental role in conserving more than 13,206,088 acres of wetlands in North America. Ducks Unlimited is always looking for new members that share our passion for conservation, which is the core reason the UW-Green Bay Chapter of Ducks Unlimited was created.

The UW-Green Bay Chapter of Ducks Unlimited was chartered in 2013. The partnership between Ducks Unlimited and the UW-Green Bay community was destined to succeed. Ducks Unlimited is the leader in wetland conservation, which thrives from members that have a deep devotion to conservation. UW-Green Bay prides itself in leading the UW system in environmentally friendly practices, sustainability, and research pertaining to environmental policy. There are many students, faculty, and alumni from UW-Green Bay that have embraced the vision of the University, and have devoted countless hours towards research, volunteering, and fundraising to support environmental and conservation projects on campus, in Brown County, throughout Wisconsin, and across the globe. Needless to say, it was obvious that Ducks Unlimited and UW-Green Bay was a perfect match!

Today, the UW-Green Bay Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is excited to announce the “Heroes of Conservation Award.” The purpose of this award is to recognize members of the UW-Green Bay community that have gone above and beyond in their conservation efforts. There are many individuals from the UW-Green Bay community that have contributed greatly to conservation and environmental issues. They do not seek recognition or compensation for the hours they volunteer. They simply care about leaving the world a better place. That is why it is an honor to recognize these individuals for the conservation work they have done.

The UW-Green Bay Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will present two awards to members of the UW-Green Bay community that have gone above and beyond in the name of conservation. One award is reserved for a current undergraduate or graduate student at UW-Green Bay, while the other award is reserved for a faculty or alumni member of the UW-Green Bay community. Each award recipient will receive two dinner tickets to the UW-Green Bay Chapter of Ducks Unlimited Annual Banquet on March 3, 2015 at The Woods Golf Course in Green Bay, at which the recipients will be presented with an award recognizing their contributions to conservation. You can nominate someone for this award by filling out the form below. All nomination forms are due by 11:59 PM on February 16, 2015 to be considered.
