Ducks Unlimited

Wood Duck Houses

After months of planning, members of the Ducks Unlimited Chapter at UW-Green Bay installed two wood duck houses in the UWGB Campus Arboretum on April 26th. The goal of these duck houses is to be occupied by the wood duck species, a nesting type of waterfowl that is incredibly beautiful. One duck house location is along the stream is the Western corner of the Arboretum, while another was placed along Bayshore Pond. After the instillation of the duck houses in the Bayshore Pond location, we even spotted two wood ducks landing in the pond giving us high hopes these houses will be occupied soon. Our future plans for these duck houses include monitoring their occupancy as part of a research project, maintaining the two existing houses, and potentially adding more duck houses.
