Mount Evans, Colorado Views on the way to the entrance to the Mt. Evans summit road.
Mount Evans, Colorado Mount Evans, Colorado
Mount Evans, Colorado The highest paved road in North America (there are higher dirt roads on some of the volcanoes in Mexico) takes you to 14,200 feet. The summit is at 14,264 feet.

The rocks are fairly monotonous granites but it's a wonderful place to see glacial scenery, wildflowers and mountain goats.

Mount Evans, Colorado The view is pretty limited until the road passes timberline. These views look east toward the High Plains.
