Our Program

The Professional Program in Education at UW-Green Bay currently offers various programs to meet several teacher licensing options for the State of Wisconsin. Students who complete our programs will not only leave with a Bachelor’s Degree, but will also leave with a Wisconsin Teaching License.

We recommend that you contact the Education Office to set up an advising appointment to learn about the options that work best for you! The Professional Program in Education is an application-based program with certain admissions requirements. Please contact us at 920-465-2137 or education@uwgb.edu for further information to learn more about these requirements or to speak with an advisor!

Message from the Chair

Being a teacher is a noble profession. Many people become educators to “make a difference” – in the lives of the students with whom they work, the schools or educational settings where they work, and for the betterment of society as a whole. The Professional Program in Education provides early experiences in classrooms so that individuals can determine if the teaching profession is right for them. Classroom experiences continue throughout the program, along with engagement in the philosophies, ideas, and practices of effective teaching and learning. A semester of student teaching allows the individual to explore, apply, refine, and evaluate a variety of teaching strategies and assessment practices. We believe this approach to preparing teachers is effective, and we look forward to working with you.
