0101D - Teaching about Ecosystems of the Great Lakes

Geared for elementary educators!

Course Description:

Gain a better understanding of the Great Lakes and leave with lessons for sharing ecological concepts with your students! Join us and explore the interaction of plant and animal communities, water quality issues, invasive species, and global climate change as they pertain to the Great Lakes. Participation in this course will involve hiking and gentle climbing. We will begin at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay and travel to various sites in Door County during the second day of the course. You are responsible for transportation to these other field trip sites. Please refer to the course syllabus, available on our website, for more information.

Stipend Information: A limited number of stipends for up to $125 is available to currently employed K-8 teachers in Wisconsin. Please note that you are not eligible for a stipend if you have previously taken this course and wish to enroll again.
