Course Description:

Join us to examine the issue of childhood poverty, homelessness, and the effects on the brain and learning. Explore strategies for teaching students to be in charge of their education and develop a plan for addressing issues of poverty in your educational setting.

This course will be taught by local expert educator Lisa Merkel with a guest presentation given by Kim Schanock, homeless coordinator for the Green Bay Area Public Schools.

One book is required for all participants in this class. UWGB will contact you with more information about the book following the course registration deadline.
