Some of the statements that Dan McIver made about Adam in his nomination letter were, “It is difficult to put into words how significant an impact Adam’s initiatives has had on the athletic department…numerous improvements or projects would not have been implemented without Adam." Also, “Adam shows complete professionalism in his work and personality. On rare occasions a department will find an exceptional student employee who has the initiative to take on new projects and present ideas on how to make improvements in the way work is being done. Adam exemplifies this type of student employee. The best compliment that I can provide is (to say that) I do not consider Adam to be a student employee; he is a full-time member of the athletic department staff.”

The Athletic Department will display a traveling trophy with Adam’s picture for the coming year. Adam’s name has been added to the Perpetual Plaque that hangs in the Financial Aid and Student Employment Office.

Adam has also been chosen by the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators (MASEA) as the 2006 Student Employee of the Year for the State of Wisconsin. For this, Adam was awarded a certificate and a check for $75. Adam's nomination further progressed to the Midwest competition.

The 2nd Annual Student Employee of the Year Appreciation Week was filled with events for students to take part in.

• An E-mailed Crossword puzzle gave student employees a chance to test their knowledge and be entered into a daily drawing for prizes.
• Sweet Packs and balloon bouquets were available at the University Union's Corner Store for supervisors of student employees.
• Supervisors were offered coupons to receive buy one/get one free lunches which they used to take their student employees to lunch on campus.
• Coupons for half off meals at the campus Pizza Hut were given to student employees.
• Free ice cream was offered between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday, April 10 for all student employees, with campus "celebrities" scooping.
• On Tuesday, April 11, there was free popcorn for all student employees.
• A "Pick-a-Boat" game for prizes was held on Wednesday, April 12.
• The awards ceremony was held on Thursday. April 12 where all nominees were honored for their contribution.
• Friday was reserved for supervisors to hold their own thank-you celebrations.
