Frequently Asked Disbursement Questions

When may I pick up my financial aid?

Financial aid is disbursed at the beginning of each semester. Aid will be awarded and disbursed throughout the semester, as applications are completed.

Financial aid will be applied to your tuition, fees, housing and other charges on your account first. Any financial aid remaining will be disbursed to the student by the Bursar's Office.

What are the Student Billing and Bursar Offices?

The Bursar’s and Student Billing Office serve different functions, but both will help you in ensuring payment of your tuition, fees and other expenses here at the university.

BURSAR - handles all payments and tuition billing for the term. If you are looking to pay off your balance, pick up a refund check or pay for parking, this is the place you will go. You will also go here to pick up any student payroll checks.

STUDENT BILLING - This office helps students in making arrangements for payment of their tuition and fees. If any of your financial aid will be late or delayed (including scholarships or other outside aid), you will want to stop in to find out what your options are.

How do I pay for my books?

Books can be purchased with cash, check, credit card or your pass point account. You also have the option to charge your book purchases to your SIS account using your UWGB ID card. Questions? Contact the Phoenix Bookstore or Bursar's Office.

Is there a payment plan?

YES! Information on the Partial Payment Plan can be obtained from Student Billing located at the Bursar's Office.

What else do I need to know?

  • All financial aid goes to the Bursar’s Office located in the Student Services Building (SS 1700). You are expected to pay your tuition each term by the published due dates listed on the Bursar's website.
  • You will not receive notice when your financial aid arrives. It is your responsibility to check the Student Information System to ensure that your bills are paid. To navigate to your student account go to Student Info System - Learner Services - Finances - you can either select Total Due Charges or Account Summary.
  • You will need your student ID to pick up your financial aid refund check at the Bursar.
  • If you have a financial aid award by August 15, your first semester aid should be available on the first day of classes.
  • If there were no delays with your application, your account should be credited and any excess aid provided to you as a refund check.
  • If your charges are not paid by the listed due dates, you will need to make arrangements with the Student Billing Office, which is adjacent to the bursar and the phone number is 920-465-2225.
  • For a complete explanation of Bursar and billing Office Policies go to www.uwgb.edu/bursar
Have a problem that needs to be resolved?
