Welcome to a learning experience that transcends traditional boundaries. Partner with Tribal Elders and immerse yourself in the richness of oral traditions, addressing real-world challenges within the Tribal communities. You'll contribute meaningfully through volunteer opportunities, internships, and community-based course work, blending academic growth with applied service.

Intern

Under the guidance of faculty members, you'll navigate real-life challenges. Earn credit while partnering with leading organizations and immerse yourself in a practical learning environment where theory meets application. Organizations that hire interns include:

  • Tribal Museums
  • Schools
  • Tribal Government offices
  • Tribal Libraries
  • Tribal Social Service Agencies including domestic violence shelters, native youth group homes, etc

Volunteer

As a program, we focus on the value of working in a group and recognizing the inherent connection between people. Through volunteering, you can provide necessary knowledge and skills for places like:

  • UW-Green Bay Intertribal Student Council
  • Mentoring and tutoring in tribal schools
  • Oneida Nation Farms
  • Safe Shelter

Collaborate

Through the Oral Tradition Concentration, you can learn from Indigenous knowledge bearers and Elders in a tribal setting. You'll be an apprentice to a wisdom keeper who specializes in anything from plant medicine to astronomy.
