Careers:
The Program offers a minor that strengthens numerous degrees including those in business, history, education, social work, humanities, and the natural and social sciences. Courses prepare students to live and work in increasingly diverse communities. Moreover, FNS minors are prepared to work cooperatively and effectively with tribal governments and businesses.
- Interact efficiently with American Indian governments and organizations
- Use this as an Area of Emphasis in a Humanistic Studies Major
- For education majors - satisfy Department of Public Instruction Act 31 requiring all State of WI k-12 teachers incorporate American Indian history, culture, and sovereignty into their classes. Education majors may also concentrate in FNS in order to become Act 31 teacher trainers in the state school districts
- Combine the First Nation Studies minor with other selected courses to create tailored degrees through Individualized majors. For example, students can cerate and earn Individualized majors in Casino Management, American Indian Law and Tribal Government, Indian Child Welfare, American Indian Repatriation and Grave Protection.

- Tribal Museums
- American Indian Education, teacher aids, student teachers
- Tribal Government offices
- Tribal Libraries
- Tribal Social Service Agencies including domestic violence shelters, Indian Child Welfare, native youth group homes, etc
Volunteer Opportunities:
- UWGB/Intertribal Student Council campus pow wow
- Mentoring and tutoring in tribal schools
- Oneida Nation Farms
