9:30 - 12:30pm Concurrent Sessions – Sessions will run fifty minutes starting at 9:30. Each will run three times.
Time Management (MAC 103) - One of the biggest issues faced by new college students is managing their time and new-found freedoms. This session provides you with advice on scheduling tips related to academic, work, and social events.

Effective Reading (MAC 105) - You will find that reading expectations are more extensive than they were in high school. In addition, you will be expected to incorporate this material into your class work and assignments. This session will provide advice on this important skill.

Note Taking (MAC 107) - The pace of a college classroom is different than high school and there is an added expectation that you are responsible for some of the course material through work done outside of class. This session addresses the issues of being an effective note taker.

Math and Science Tips (MAC 109) - Do you have “Math Phobia?” Then this session may be for you. Our faculty will address how you can better deal with these quantitative subjects.

International Opportunities (MAC 111) - UWGB offers numerous study abroad and travel course opportunities. Hear about these and how you can take advantage of them by some of our faculty who have led these trips.

Relationship Dynamics (MAC 113) - Now that you’re in college you’ll be developing many new relationships on campus while managing old relationships with friends and family back home. In this session you'll discuss relationship dynamics you might anticipate with residence hall roommates, new romantic partners, romantic partners back home, parents, and professors.

Coming to Campus with a Heavy Heart (MAC 217) - Some new students come to campus having experienced the loss of a loved one. This session presents information about the experiences of grieving college students and offers strategies about how to cope with these stressful events.

Performing Arts Involvement for Students Not Majoring or Minoring in the Arts (MAC 219) - Do you enjoy being involved in theater production, but wonder if you can participate since you’re not a theater major or minor? Come and learn what exciting opportunities exist for you either on-stage or behind-the-scenes. Also learn about “UWGB meets NYC,” the spring break travel course to New York City in which you’ll see several Broadway shows.

Green Bay Community (MAC 208) - The Student Ambassadors will share tips about the Green Bay community including where to shop, where to eat, and the local entertainment.

Learning the Library Landscape (MAC 221) - This session will prepare you for the good grades you want. Learn what resources professors may require and how to locate them...such as: books to support your research, online databases, scholarly journals, etc. Discover the many ways that the staff can help.
