Orientation Proposal Form

During freshman FOCUS- Orientation this year we plan to offer optional concurrent sessions at several times during two of the days (Friday August 31 and Saturday September 1). We are soliciting proposals from faculty and staff who would be interested in hosting one of these sessions.

These sessions will be led by faculty and staff members, and will introduce students to a variety of academic and social experiences, as well as allow students to make connections with others on campus.

Examples of possible sessions are below. All sessions should be interactive and engaging, meet objectives of the orientation program (below), and last one hour or less.

Orientation goals
  • Schedule activities and programs that engage the students and help them build relationships w/their peers, staff and faculty
  • Provide a warm “Campus Welcome”
  • Provide a balance of educational, resource and social activities
  • Provide students an opportunity to navigate the campus in non-threatening, supportive environment
  • Show students how to get involved on campus
  • Build campus pride and spirit
  • Introduce students to the UW-Green Bay mission
You may propose a session by filling out the online form below: Proposals will need to include a title of the session, a brief description (1-3 sentences), and preferred times and locations. Please check all of the times that would work for you (the early morning or early evening times could work for a walk, run, or dialogue over breakfast/coffee)

The deadline for session proposals is April 13th. The FOCUS Planning Committee will review all proposals, and get back to you.
