Community members have supported UW-Green Bay from its inception and play a critical role in providing the “margin of excellence” created by private contributions. As a tax-assisted university, UW-Green Bay receives less than 21 percent of its operating budget from the state of Wisconsin, leaving a significant gap to be filled through tuition and private philanthropy.
Contributions are used to assist the University in many areas:
- Financial aid and scholarships
- Academic programs
- New classroom equipment
- Performing and visual arts performances
- International travel programs
- Library materials
- Diversity initiatives
- Student Leadership Development Programs
By making a financial contribution, donors participate in a rich tradition, joining thousands of other donors from across the globe. Donors are invited to social gatherings, and are engaged with the events, activities and people at UW-Green Bay. They also serve as leaders in advocating for the University and its students.
