Brenda Amenson-Hill 2010 Recipient of the Academic Support Award for ExcellenceDean of Students

This award was presented to Brenda Amenson-Hill for her tireless dedication to facilitating student success and championing opportunities for gaining leadership experience and learning both inside and outside the classroom. She demonstrates her ability to work collaboratively in her role as co-director of the University’s retention-boosting FOCUS program, which goes beyond opening-week orientation for new freshmen to include support throughout a student’s first year.

Amenson-Hill has also been instrumental in shaping the University’s new Common Theme initiative, which each year brings people together from across campus for a series of events and activities focusing on a specific theme. Colleagues praise her as an effective administrator who has the trust and respect of her staff. Her positive disposition is a welcome trait to all who work with her through many campus efforts. She joined the UW-Green Bay staff in 1998 as director of student life.
