Jennifer Ham
Professor, Humanistic Studies and German
Humanistic Studies and German Professor Jennifer Ham is said to lead "cognitive and attitudinal change in students, who encounter new ways of thinking not just about communication and their place in the world but also about their unexamined values and roles as learners."
She was able to spend part of a 1999-2000 sabbatical in Berlin to develop new courses and teaching material. Students value her dedication to teaching and advising and appreciate that she goes out of her way to create opportunities for them, which extend beyond the classroom. She has established and supervised numerous internships in the community for her students, helping them to develop an applied use of their newly formed knowledge and creating opportunities for practical purpose. Her enthusiasm for the German language is widely shared in the community through public conferences, readings, music and plays.
