Cristina Ortiz

Cristina OrtizAssociate Professor, Spanish and Humanistic Studies

Cristina Ortiz is founder and director of the successful community-oriented Spanish in the Professions program at UW-Green Bay and she helped develop the Spanish Immersion Camp for high school students.

She frequently leads public discussions of literature, film, and Spanish or Latina culture at education and cultural events across the region. Her insistent efforts have helped build strong partnerships among academic units, programs and disciplines, resulting in new and growing ties to the community. She is a passionate advocate for international relationships and cultural experiences especially those that strengthen the student experience and add valued partnerships with institutions in Guatemala, Spain, Mexico and, most recently, Chile.
