It is a testament to Professor Sylvia "Mimi" Kubsch that Nursing is one of UW-Green Bay's largest majors, with about 100 graduates per year. Kubsch is well known amongst her students and colleagues for exhibiting quality teaching, adopting best practices, and having meaningful interactions with her students.

After joining the UW-Green Bay faculty in 1980, she helped develop the Nursing program's initial curriculum and has since taught on a variety of topics, such as nursing research, advanced health assessments, theoretical foundations of nursing, and complementary therapies. Kubsch also helps her students understand their roles as care providers, researchers, advocates, learners and teachers. She leads by example and has remained enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring throughout her career.
