Carillon Knoll Fund

Gifts to the Carillon Knoll fund provide funding for preservation and enhancements to the area surrounding the Weidner Memorial Carillon. This fund was established in 2010 by Jim Madigan in memory of his late wife, Doris Madigan. Doris was a community leader who received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UW-Green Bay.

David Christensen Memorial Award

Barbara Hauxhurst Cofrin Graduate Assistantship

Robert L. Ganyard Library Endowment

Established in 2009, this endowment fund was created by Debra Ann Reilly, M.D., Associate Professor for the Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Medical Director of the NHS Burn Center, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Dr. Reilly established the fund in honor of her late father. Debra’s brother is UW-Green Bay Professor, Dr. Clifton Ganyard. This endowment will provide discretionary funds to support the mission of the David A. Cofrin Library.

Alfred O. and Phyllis E. Holz Environmental Award

The Alfred O. and Phyllis E. Holz Environmental Award Fund was created in spring 2008 with a gift from the estate of Phyllis Holz. The fund was established to support the Environmental Science program at UW-Green Bay, with the donor specifying that the funds are to be used to provide field and/or laboratory research equipment needed for the study of plants or animals. Phyllis was a 1932 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and served as a business education teacher at a number of Wisconsin high schools. Phyllis passed away on October 31, 2007. Alfred was a lecturer at UW-Green Bay in the early-1970s. A photographer and graphic artist by trade, he had worked to develop a course in audio-visual techniques relating to environmental interpretation. Alfred was teaching this course at UWGB when he died in March 1976.

Edward W. Weidner Carillon Fund

Erected in 2009, the Edward W. Weidner Memorial Carillon serves to honor the memory of Dr. Weidner, UW-Green Bay’s first chancellor. Dr. Weidner led the University from his appointment as its first employee in 1966 through his retirement as chancellor in 1986. He remained in Green Bay and was a driving force on behalf of various University and community initiatives. A carillon, those close to him say, was part of his long-term wish list for the campus he founded. Gifts to this fund help preserve the Weidner Memorial Carillon and the surrounding spaces.

Weidner Family Endowment Fund

The Weidner Family Endowment was established in the late 1990s by the late Chancellor Emeritus Edward W. Weidner. This endowment has a noticeable impact at UW-Green Bay by providing funding for five designated program areas within the University: Intercollegiate Athletics, Music, Theatre, Dance and the Chancellor’s Office.
