Green Bay Media Scholarship

Discipline: Media - General

Student: Continuing

This scholarship was created in 2006 by UW-Green Bay alumni Caroline Campshure Sampson and Christopher Sampson in memory of their fathers, Theodore J. Campshure and Allen E. Sampson. Ted Campshure was a photographer and photoengraver for the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Al Sampson was a photographer, reporter and sports anchor with WBAY TV-2 and WLUK TV-11. Sampson passed away in August 2002, Campshure in August 2006. Coincidentally, both men covered the hometown Green Bay Packers. During the 1940s, Campshure captured shots of Curly Lambeau and NFL game action at old City Stadium. In the 1960s, Sampson worked the press box as co-host of “The Vince Lombardi Show” and play-by-play voice of Packers pre-season football.
