The Robert L. Ganyard Library Endowment will provide funds to support the mission of the Cofrin Library and provides the flexibility for the library to use the annual spendable endowment earnings.

Father of Humanistic Studies Professor Clifton Ganyard
Father-in-law of Cofrin Library Director Paula Ganyard
Robert Ganyard taught at University of Houston until he returned to University of Buffalo in 1964 where he served seven years as director of the Interdisciplinary Degree Program and three years as the history department’s director of graduate studies.
He is well known for his book, The Emergence of North Carolina’s Revolutionary State Government, published in 1978, in addition to numerous articles and book reviews.
He retired from SUNY at Buffalo in 1991.

Dr. Debra Ann Reilly, M.D., established this endowment to honor the memory of her stepfather, Robert L. Ganyard, a teacher, researcher and author, and a voracious reader.

- preservation of existing collections
