Tutorial services:
Free tutorial services are provided by experienced advanced language students for those students interested in getting additional help with their language studies. Feel free to use these sessions as excellent review sessions outside of class. Contact one of our tutors to sign up.
The current tutors are Julie Bayard, bayajm03@uwgb.edu and Marko Skoric skorm14@uwgb.edu

La Table Français
The free French conversation table hours with native tutor Bérénice are Monday at 2p.m., Thursday at 5p.m. and Friday at 4p.m. This table is open to the community and is held weekly at Common Grounds café on campus.

Le Cercle français
The French Club sponsors the Table Français, the French concerts, film nights, attendance of French cultural plays, activities, etc., and gives students the opportunity to know other people who share similar interests. Activities often include crêpe parties, visits to community grades schools, high schools and businesses dealing with French and French/Canadian culture. It provides a wonderful opportunity to learn leadership skills through serving as an officer. Contact Amber (bennar12@uwgb.edu) and Emily (bruceg05@uwgb.edu) for further information.

Additional French Club Activities:

  • Showing French movies at the University
  • Speaking and presenting at area schools
  • Crêpe parties
  • Teaching French to pre-school and school age children at day care centers and elementary schools in the area
  • Presenting/teaching French to children at the Brown County Library

For further information about the French program and French-related events, please contact Prof. E. N. Meyer, meyern@uwgb.edu.

Teaching Internships:
We offer the opportunity to teach French in the community at a local elementary school. This is a wonderful opportunity to practice your critical thinking skills. Future teaching candidates love this opportunity as well. These teaching internships (a program that we have sponsored for approximately 15 years) is on hiatus this year, but will return Fall 2011. Contact Professor E. Nicole Meyer for further information, meyern@uwgb.edu

Internships
The French program offers a number of professional practicums in the community and abroad. Language students have the opportunity of interning as language teachers (see above), work on marketing projects or in local or other firms. Contact Professor E. Nicole Meyer for further information, meyern@uwgb.edu
