Gerontology
The study of aging and special problems of the aged.
Geriatrics
The study within the field of medicine that deals with the study of disease, debilities, and care of aging persons
Cohort
Individuals who experience the same event at the same time, quite often born in the same year
Primary Aging
Normal disease free development through adulthood
Secondary Aging
Changes in adulthood that are related to disease, lifestyle and other environmentally induced changes not considered inevitable.
Ageism
An untrue assumption that chronological age s the main determinant of human characteristics and that one age is better than another.
