Hi. I want to talk to you again about the Faculty & Staff Campaign for 2009, which was a huge success.

Our goal this year was to have 55 percent of full-time faculty and staff contribute to the campaign and we actually achieved 62 percent. So congratulations and thank you all very much for your support of this campaign.

We took a little different approach this year and it required that we have captains all across campus who helped us in achievement of this goal. And so I want to say thank you to all the people who helped as facilitators, coordinators, captains. Without your help, without your work, we would probably not have achieved this goal. It confirms what I recognized about this University almost a year ago when I interviewed for the job, and that is that this is a generous community and it’s also a community that is committed to this University.

We had three units achieve 100 percent — we had Outreach, Eighth Floor, and Athletics. We had others come close. But for every one of you — each individual who made any contribution to this campaign — let me once again say thank you very much.
