Video: Chancellor's Call to Action
Video Transcript
click to giveHi. We’re all aware of the hard times the world is facing in an economic way, but even though we’re in hard times and there’s not much money and we have had our budget cut drastically and you have even lost compensation, we as a University still have needs.
What I want to talk to you about today is our Faculty and Staff Campaign for this year.
Now, I also know that we’re not going to get a bailout, but I want you to help this University make a statement. I want you to make a statement with me that you believe in the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, that you believe in what you do and that what you do makes a big, positive difference in this community. And that you believe that there is value in giving.
Will you give to your University? This year in the Faculty and Staff Campaign your gift means perhaps more than it ever has in the past. We're not going to twist your arm. We’re not going to coerce you, but you will be asked. You may be asked more than once, even. But our goal this year should be increasing participation among the faculty and staff at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
We’ll do some things a little differently this year. For example, we’re going to have a fairly large number of captains or coordinators to help us with this campaign. They’re your peers. They’re going to be the ones asking you if you will please, give to your University.
So why give this year? Well, we have about 130 accounts that you can give to. Each one is a worthy cause. Each one helps the University and you can choose where your money goes and it will all go to that purpose.
It tells our donors and our trustees and our friends outside of the University that we give and that we care about this University. I hope that you would give simply because you want to.
So how much? Well, only you can determine if you will give and only you can determine how much. But you can determine what is a personally significant gift.
And I assure you that any gift, small or large, will be appreciated by our students, by your friends and peers, and by me. So I thank you.
