Academic Excellence Scholarship Endowment

Description: This fund was established as a part of the 1996-97 University Employee Drive and has been an option for employee giving each year since. The majority of the funds have been gifted by employees of the University. Recipients of this scholarship are new or continuing students who meet certain academic criteria.

Barbara Hauxhurst Cofrin Graduate Assistantship

Description: This fund, honoring the late sister-in-law of Dr. David and Mary Ann Cofrin, provides financial support for graduate assistantships at UW-Green Bay.

David Christensen Memorial Award

Description: Created in 1985 to honor former Counseling and Student Development Center Director David Christensen, this award provides financial assistance to students in need of counseling, medical care, equipment, and other areas.

Learning in Retirement Program Endowment

Natural and Applied Science Endowment

George and Eleanor Burridge Fund for the Performing Arts

Description: Created in 2008 through a planned gift from George and Eleanor Burridge, this scholarship provides financial assistance for the performing arts.

Joseph and Mac LaForce Business Scholarship

Description: Eleanor (Mac) LaForce created the Joseph and Mac LaForce Business Scholarship in memory of her husband who passed away in 2007. Joseph LaForce was the founder of LaForce Inc., the Green Bay-based distributer of doors, frames, and related hardware. What started as a small local hardware supplier, has grown to include six offices throughout the Midwest with approximately 400 employees. Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by the UWGB Business Department Scholarship Committee. Awardees must be full-time students majoring in business administration or a related field, be Brown County residents, have reached junior status and be in good academic standing.

Marjorie M. Weidner Staff Development Fund

Description: Established in 1998 by former UW-Green Bay employee and friend Marjorie Weidner, this award provides financial assistance for professional development to academic and clerical staff at UW-Green Bay.

Point Sauble Wetland Endowment

Description: The University Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of deceased University employees and friends, and is comprised of various memorial scholarships. The University Memorial Scholarship includes funds established in memory of Arthur Atkisson, Nancy Datan, Dennis Girard, Abe Shepard, Al Swinerton and Hans Van Beek. Recipients of this scholarship are new freshmen who have demonstrated high academic achievement.
