Dr. Denise Bartell
Dr. Denise Bartell is the Director of the Center for Students in Transition, an Associate Professor in Human Development and Psychology, and the founder and Program Director for the Phoenix GPS Program. In addition to the First Year Seminar on Love & Lust in America, Dr. Bartell teaches courses on family and personal relationships and research methods in human development. Her areas of research involve emerging adult development, including factors that promote college success and the impact of romantic relationships on young adult development. In addition to her work developing programs to assist students in the transition to college, Dr. Bartell is also active in the field of relationship education, having worked on multiple projects to reduce risky romantic and sexual behavior in college students.
