Ceramics Tool List
• Ceramic tool kit (available from Bookstore or other suppliers) contains;
-wooden rib
-metal scraper
-needle tool
-small double-ended loop tool
-large single-ended loop tool
-cut-off wire
-wooden knife
-small sponge
• At least one good brush. A large sumi-e (bamboo) is good if you only
buy one brush. Other useful types include watercolor, foam, or other natural
bristle brushes. Brushes with synthetic (nylon, etc.) bristles do not work well.
• 5 qt. plastic bucket (ice cream tub).
• Wooden paddle (unfinished) lattice or 1x4 size, about 12"-18"
long.
• Plastic bags (waste basket size) and sheet plastic (dry-cleaner bags
to medium weight).
• Butter knife, fork, teaspoon.
• Other tools you think might be interesting or useful. If it looks like
a tool it will probably work as a tool in ceramics.
