Introduction to Ceramics (Art 230)
Important Dates:
Dates in bold are specific to this class all others are general University dates or deadlines.
End of the Drop/Add period is Friday, February 6.
Last day to drop a class is Friday, March 13.
Spring break is March 14 - 22.
Chicago Field Trip is Friday, April 17 (optional)
Last day of class is Wednesday, May 6.
For all practical purposes you must complete the actual making of work approximately one week before the end of the semester, in order to allow time for drying and firing before the semester's end; that is Friday, May 1 .
The Final quiz for this class will be given on the last regularly scheduled day of class, Wednesday, May 6 .
Finals week starts Tuesday, May 12 and runs through Monday, May 18.
This class will meet during the scheduled final exam module to clean the studio on Wednesday, May 13 at 8:30 a.m. Participation in the final clean up is REQUIRED. Come dressed and prepared to work.
Final Evaluations for this class will be scheduled during Finals Week. A number of 2 hour evaluation blocks will be scheduled during Finals Week. A sign-up sheet for final evaluations will be posted about one week prior to finals week for you to select and schedule a time convenient to you. Work presented at the final evaluation must be finished. Greenware and unglazed bisque-ware will receive a grade of "F". Ware that is glazed but not fired will be evaluated based on the percentage of your total work it represents.
