Bridgett Lowery is from Libertyville, Illinois. She attended Michigan State University where she earned a degree in Education. She received her Master's degree in history at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003. She focused on 20th-century American History, specifically women's history and oral history. Her Master's Thesis was an oral history of women on the World War II home front in the port city of Wilmington, NC. She worked in business, specifically Human Resources, before returning to academia. She is currently on the Board of Directors for the Brown County Historical Society.
