Evening and Weekend Duty
There are always a number of RAs on-duty in the evenings and weekends. You can contact RAs one of two ways:
- Call the Community Center front desk and ask for assistance (920-465-2040)
- Call one of the RA duty phones for your area.
One RA goes on duty (primary) at 4:30pm every day and a second RA goes on duty that evening at 8:00pm (secondary) in each area. Both RAs work throughout the evening and weekend to ensure that you are safe and following policies. RAs do “rounds” two or three times each night through every floor or wing in the area, getting to know residents, ensuring the building is safe and secured, and assisting in enforcing University policy, if needed. Feel free to talk with the RAs as they walk through your building. They want to get to know all of you.
It might be a good idea to keep your area's RA duty phone numbers in your room/apartment and in your cell phone contact list. That way they are available if and when you need to ask a question or ask for some assistance.
On-campus housing is
split into five
"areas". Each area has two RAs on duty for that evening
or weekend. Depending on which building you live in, you would call the
appropriate number to reach the duty RA in that area.
You are also encouraged to call the Community Center (465-2040) for routine concerns; however, in case of emergency, call 911 or 9-911 from a campus phone OR Public Safety at 465-2300.
