Cletus Vanderperren Hall was built in 1987, and helps make up the community of Small, Cletus and Warren.
About the man: Cletus Vanderperren, a lifelong resident of Brown County, was born in 1912 and served the people
of the region as a Pittsfield Town Board member for 30 years, County Board member for 16 years, and State Representative
continuously since January 1959. His friendship with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay extended from the founding
years when, as a State Representative, Mr. Vanderperren was a vocal and loyal proponent for establishment of a
four-year institution of higher learning in Northeastern Wisconsin. Later, in legislative committee assignments
including the Building Commission, he nurtured the physical growth and development of the campus. He has remained
a great friend through the years, providing the University with wise counsel. In high local praise he once proclaimed
UW-Green Bay "the best development since the Green Bay Packers". Mr. Vanderperren passed away in 1994.
