About Tom Haevers

Tom HaeversTom Haevers served as the first Director of Residence Life and helped develop quality, affordable on-campus housing and an active student community at UW-Green Bay. Haevers, a Green Bay native, joined the University in 1980 just as it was purchasing its first student housing—a privately developed apartment complex adjacent to the campus. By the time he retired in 2001, the housing "village" had developed into a park-like setting with 24 buildings and room to accommodate over 1900 students.

Haevers helped build a dynamic residence life program, supervised staff growth and promoted initiatives enhancing the on-campus atmosphere and student retention. His work earned him the UW-Green Bay Founders Association Award for Excellence in Academic support in 2000.
