What do students usually bring to campus?
Extra-long twin-size bed linens, blankets, pillows and towels
Vacuum cleaner, broom, mop, and cleaning supplies
Entryway and bathroom floor mats
Cell phone or long distance calling card
Radio alarm clock with battery back-up capability
Computer with Wi-Fi and/or CAT-5E or CAT-6 hook-up cable
Three-prong grounded power strips with circuit breaker
Small lockbox
Flashlight with batteries
Compact florescent light bulbs (CFLs) for lamps or other items you
bring
Light-weight toilet paper
Hand sanitizer for the flu season
Games and recreational equipment
Additional items you may want to consider bringing to campus:
- Small television and RG-6 hook-up cable with F-style thread-on connectors
- Small Energy Star refrigerator (no larger than 2-4 cubic feet)
- Small Energy Star microwave
- Dishes, pots/pans, flatware and utensils (if you are residing in an
apartment)
- Small shovel for the trunk of your car (if you bring a car)
What are students not allowed to have on campus?
- Alcohol (not allowed in Residence Hall buildings)
- Illegal drugs
- Candles and incense
- Open-coil cooking and heating appliances
- Electrical appliances of excessive wattage
- Halogen lamps
- Two-prong ungrounded extension cords
- Weapons, including martial arts weapons
- Fireworks
- Flammables such as gasoline and propane
- Personal bed bunking/lofting equipment
- Pets, except for non-dangerous fish in an aquarium no larger than 29
